Author's Review
I bought this GE converter box at Target for 59.99. I bought this box because it had the feature to show the program lineup and I thought that would be helpful. I have a few GE products and have been pleased with their quality up until now. On one hand, this box looks sharp and high-tech, but it was nothing but problems the five days I had it. Set up was easy but I immediately found navigation through the options was difficult with the poor remote control. I literally could not be more than 5 feet away from the receiver for the remote to work. I had to press the buttons extremely hard, and there was a l-o-n-g delay between pressing the button and the channel actually changing. Also, if there were multiple stations for one number (ex. 12.1,12.2, 12.3, etc.), you couldn't just click 12 to get to the first 12 station (like my new converter will do)--you have to click 12.1 to get to the first 12 station. Also, I could not get in some of the local stations I had been getting with only rabbit ears. This was the most expensive converter at Target and definitely not worth the money! I took this product back and exchanged it for a Venturer brand for $10 less. Night and Day. Easier to use, clearer picture, more channels, quality remote control. Just a side note, if you use the $40 card from the government to purchase the box, you can only exchange for a new one if you are unsatisfied--so do your research!
