I purchased this digital camera 2 years ago when I bought my new computer. I'd had other digital cameras in the past and hadn't had the best of luck with them and I really wanted a new one. I was ordering my computer from Gateway.com and saw they had a few cameras available as well, so I decided to get one at the same time. I was hoping I'd have better luck with this one and I have.
Its a small camera and very lightweight. Its also very durable and virtually unbreakable. I've dropped it several times and it still works. I have a camera bag for it, but usually just shove it into my pocket or my purse, its just easier that way. It works as a webcam, a digital camera and it also takes videos. Although its very outdated, I still love the camera and I've had better luck with it than I've had with any other camera, which is why I haven't replaced it. It takes great videos and it takes average pictures, they're not bad, they're not fantastic.
The camera itself is very easy to use, it takes 2 triple A batteries and unlike other cameras, the batteries do seem to last. I put the current batteries in this camera back at Christmastime and they still work.
To operate it, you simply slide open the cover and you'll hear 2 beeps and thats telling you its on, its got an LCD screen which makes taking pictures easier and you push the button and it takes about 5 seconds for the picture to take. The video option is basically the same, you just change the setting to video and push the button and when you're done you push the button again. I never bothered with the webcam option since I already have one.
Putting the pictures on the computer is just as easy. The software comes with the camera and takes just short time to install, once installed you just plug the camera in and follow the onscreen directions to get your pictures. Its very easy.
The camera holds about 100 pictures, you can buy a memory card for it as well, but I never have. If you're taking videos, can hold up to 12 minutes. It isn't much time, but its fine for someone who just needs a simple, everyday camera.
In closing, I'd recommend this camera as a first camera for someone or for someone who just wants a simple to use, everyday digital camera.
