Guess I'm the only one who likes it...

by   DrJavaago ,  Feb 17, 2004
Pros: Great pictures! Best deal I've seen. I'm happy.
Cons: Hands down dealing with Gateway to get it.
The Bottom Line: If you can get through Gateway's horrible customer service, it's worth the effort. I am very happy with this camera.
Review: Looks like it has some "issues" with quality, but I have to be honest and say I have not had one negative experience with this camera. After reading the first review which I felt was more emotion than fact, I went ahead and ordered the camera. I have ...

Many Features, Great Price

by   dentaldoc ,  Apr 4, 2004
Pros: 5 megapixel picture size, low price, manual/auto controls, easily available batteries and memory.
Cons: Sometimes the focus and the picture recording can be a little slow.
The Bottom Line: A great camera for the photo amateur who wants large 5 MP images, a choice between auto and manual controls, and the ability to focus both CLOSE and far.
Review: After using 1.3 megapixel and 2.1 megapixel cameras for family and vacation snapshots, I found that I wanted the ability to enlarge my photos without noticeable pixellation. This camera fulfilled that goal. The 5 megapixel images allow for substantial ...

I Like the Camera

by   clothaire ,  Feb 19, 2004
Pros: The 5 mega pixel rating and the large number of options.
Cons: The batteries need to be replaced with rechargeable batteries.
Review: I bought the Gateway DC-M50 as a low price entry into the digital camera field. I have used it for about a month , mostly for flash photography (including self portraits on a tripod using a slave GN-56 flash) . It has more options and features than I ...

good beginner digital camera

by   maddog_malone ,  May 1, 2007
Pros: cheap price, good quality photos
Cons: menus leave a lot to be desired
Review: Finicky focusing. This camera changes its setting to use the flash when you adjust the focusing control in the menu. It can be very hard to get used to in order to get good quality photos. I have owned this camera for the last 3 years and have taken ...

Good but not very tough

by   mmzd60 ,  Dec 21, 2006
Pros: Price, picture quality
Cons: Plastic case , processing speed
Review: This Camera was my first digital camera and it served me very well. It took great pics. I took roughly 600-800 pictures a year, for two years. The plastic case however began to wiggle loose and the lens began to stick. The main drawback, however, was the ...

Glitchy camera eats batteries but has sufficient megapixels for great images

by   epinioncyote ,  Jan 10, 2004
Pros: Took excellent images when it would stay in the On mode; pocket-sized; sturdy
Cons: Glitch in the boot-up circuitry; eats batteries; slow between shots
Review: Our camera had trouble with start-up; it would sometimes boot up then just shut off before one could use it; this glitch was intermittent and was unrelated to the type of battery we had in the camera; the same thing might occur when running off the ...

Not bad, plenty cheap

by   sephitor ,  Mar 4, 2004
Pros: Good price, 5 megapixel, easy upload
Cons: Eats batteries, long focusing times
Review: Not a terrible camera at all...but mainly because of the cheap price. It's hard to complain too much about a five megapixel camera for such a low cost. Image quality is good if the pictures are taken carefully. Sometimes it takes a while for the ...

From good to bad to worse

by   gedeyenite ,  May 9, 2004
Pros: Price
Cons: Finicky controls, unfocused images, slow image speed, battery killer
The Bottom Line: Don't buy. Spend more for something quality and not picked up of the "pasture",
Review: I originally purchased this camera for two reasons: 1) Price 2) Good reviews here at ePinions I have since been sorry. When I first received it and went through the rounds with it I was happy. I was only dissatisfied with the "cheap" appearance ...

Absolutely Horrible

by   babyhoo78 ,  Jan 9, 2004
Pros: None
Cons: Cheap, Slow, Inconsistent auto focus, poor customer service
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this camera under any circumstances!!!
Review: My husband and I purchased this camera thinking that we were getting a deal. However, all we got was a cheap camera that didn't do anything we bought it for. The speed of this camera is so slow taking it to sporting events is worthless. By the time it ...
