Garmin nuvi 200W Car GPS Receiver

The GPS is a great device to have, especially if you are a frequent traveler. We are a military family, and we travel quite a bit. Our first time using the GPS was on a trip to South Carolina. The GPS was easy to program, and like any electronic device, has it's quirks. One area that this device was lacking in, was in the maps of military bases - which were often inaccurate/outdated; during our trip, the GPS announced to "turn right" and at that point, had we followed the instructions, we would have driven through a grassy field that was fenced off...a bit frustrating, but I guess depending on whether or not the person is military, it can be a good thing or bad thing.

Quick run down of features: world clock w/ different time zones, brightness adjuster, currency converter, calculator,
allows tracking on kilometers or miles, anti-theft feature, slot for SD card, adjustable volume, zoom in/zoom out map view, voice prompts, 2D and 3D map view, auto re-route feature, avoid toll roads, avoid highways, routing by shorter/faster distance, allows you to add in stops, points of interest featuring: restaurant locator, fuel finder, transportation finder, lodging, shopping, bank/atm finder, attractions, recreation, hospitals, mechanics, etc.,

The Garmin website, also has downloads available to keep the GPS up to date (some are free, others have a fee)

One interesting thing I discovered was that the power cord that comes w/ the unit, will also charge the RAZR cell phone. Incidentally if you happen to have motorola phone tools, the USB cable from that program will work to update the GPS.

The only thing I really didn't care for, was when you need to use a special character, you have to go to a different screen, and type it in, then go back to the regular
"alphabet" screen.
