Ease of Use with lots of features
Date of Review: Jun 29, 2008
The Bottom Line: Excellent choice for a portable navigation system - ease of use and full features make this a sound choice. One of the best electronic purchases I have made.
Have travelled in Europe and US and found the 670 to be excellent for getting me around. European maps are accurate. The larger screen and narrow body make the unit portable for walking around on battery power. The blue tooth feature allows unit to load all of your cell phone contacts every time your phone is connected. Well integrated phone system with wireless FM transmitter (built in). I have a Mercedes Benz with the radio antenna in rear, so FM transmission results in substandard performance. I have been able to add custom points of interest (from web sites) easily to my 670, and the unit has a 30 second turn on/off feature when powered down. This allows you to leave the unit on if you are going to temporarily shut down your vehicle and do not wish to power down the 670. Photo album is sufficient. MP3 player has a repeat option, but will not play tracks continuously. You are charged for map upgrades (should you accept them) each year. In Europe the 670 accurately told me where the speed cameras were located, a great feature. My 70 year old mother used my 670 in Southern CA and ended up buying a 660 because of it's ease of use (she owns a Lexus with a built in Navigation system but uses the 660 instead!). Note that the 660 and 670 are the same except the 670 has the European maps. Looking up food establishments or different types of stores is very easy to perform. With phone hooked up, it will dial any reference point as well.
