Pros: Physically feels very solid but light. Good screen, basemap detail and coverage; good radio range.
Cons: Serial port PC cable (but USB adapter available); navigation takes getting used to; no auto-routing.
The Bottom Line: Good GPS / mapping performance for a handheld unit; good 2-way radio; all in all, Garmin Rino 120 is an awesome accessory for any traveler.
Review: A mapping GPS receiver and a FRS / GMRS 2-way radio in a single small, rugged, waterproof (submersible) device would seem like a traveler's dream. But does it realize its potential in practical use? The short answer is "yes, for the most part."

Pros: Awesome concept, great execution, seamless radio/GPS interface.
Cons: Legendary Garmin crappy GPS reception. Little memory for custom maps.
The Bottom Line: A good buy, and a good concept if it serves your needs. A separate purchase might be more practical for most.
Review: My other reviews on GPSs focus on Magellans, which I consider to be a superior product with better satellite signal processing. That said, the Garmin Rhino 120 has won me over with the basic concept. A FRS/GMRS radio with dozens of great features and a ...

Pros: light weight.Waterproof.fairly easy to use
Cons: color
The Bottom Line: Great gps. Tons of usable features
Review: I bought the 110 for hunting and hiking. I wasn't interested in the 120 due to cost and features i would never use. The 110 frs radio is pretty good. I can communicate with my buddy easily although we didn't test the range over 1 km.I chose the American ...

Pros: Great functions, very good sattelite reception, waterproof.
Cons: Click stick too small, awkward somewhat bulky shape.
The Bottom Line: So far, I'm very pleased with the GPS functions of this unit. Just need to check out the radio performance to say it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Review: This is an excellent unit for the hunter or avid outdoorsman! It picks up and holds onto sattelites better than most units I have seen. I've had about 5 different GPS's over the last few years and this is the coolest and best functioning one for sure. I...

Pros: Gps is great, functions are intuitive, radio integration is an awesome concept.
Cons: Originals were bad, and had to be exchanged.
The Bottom Line: Garmin has hit a home run with the Rino 120.
Great customer service, turnaround on the replacements took only 7 days.
Review: 7/2/03 Update: We have received the replacements, and they work great. Though I've only had the chance to check them on flat ground at a range of about 1 mile, the units worked perfectly. The radios worked fine, with one unit having just a touch of...

Pros: Loads of features, compact size, PC upgradeable maps, peer-to-peer positioning, battery life
Cons: Clumsy radio features, bulky 3rd battery location
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for the best marriage of GPS and radio tools created (to date), look no further. For just about $200, this GPS/radio is an incredible bargain.
Review: I decided to purchase the Rino 120 for several uses. For hunting, camping, hiking, snowmachining, flying, snowboarding and tactics for my favorite hobby of airsoft.
The applications are almost limitless and the deal is almost unreal. Lots of... |

Pros: Great!
Cons: No auto-routing
The Bottom Line: If you use FRS radios and want a GPS run don't walk and get one. If you have always wanted GPS or FRS same applies.
Review: This is my first GPS, and I have wanted one for some time, but just never got around to getting one.
When I was looking originally I figured, what the heck this may kill two birds with one stone, so I decided that I'd give it a go. ... |

Pros: Easy for any age to use. Stay in contact with your kids by using display.
Cons: Battery life short. Use battery saver feature and turn volume down to extend life.
Review: I own both the Rino 110 and Rino 120. Both models are light weight, easy to use and are PACKED with extra features that I did not expect. The Rino 120 has extra memory for more detailed mapping and memory. I live in Southern Utah and spend most if not ...

Pros: Size, memory, ability to transmit location between units.
Cons: Battery life, color options, and built-in maps.
Review: This is the best compact radio and GPS unit. Only one of about three available, but I purchased this model due to the 8 MB's of memory for maps and route storage. I've really enjoyed the product, have used it for off-highway vehicle travel and trail doc ...

Pros: Know exactly where you hunting buddies are, always have a radio with you, convenient GUI.
Cons: Batteries don't last long, radio reception, joystick is tricky.
Review: I've enjoyed having my Rino 120. It is a great piece of gear. Navigating the features makes sense, it's easy to mark way-points. One of the best features is the ability to see the location of other people carrying a Rino. My hunting buddy lost ...
