Garmin GPS 276C

Date of Review:  Feb 9, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you travel and get lost, go for it. Understanding is it's great for that fishermen. But I'd have a boat first.
Review:
Maybe Epinions realized I was lost, maybe they read a few reviews connected to me that described how Susi and I spent over 5 hours trying to drive a 45 minute trek from BMI to Gungians house in Virginia. I don t know. What I do know is that I...

Garmin 276c comparison to Streetpilot III & 2610

Date of Review:  Jul 16, 2004
The Bottom Line: An excellent multifunction navigation unit that does almost everything well. The benefits easily offset it's few flaws, most of which have been eliminated with the release of updated firmware.
Review: The last time I updated this review was July 2007, I am revisiting it to announce that effective yesterday the 376c was officially discontinued by Garmin . . . after more than 4 years in distribution, I STILL consider this series to be the benchmark...

276C compared to StreetPilot 2610

Date of Review:  Jul 19, 2005
The Bottom Line: Excellent GPS for automotive or motorcycle use. Superb high res screen viewable in direct sunlight without backlight.
Review: The GPSMap 276C is a great GPS for motorcycles and cars.

Main advantages over the Garmin 2610: battery power and a 3x higher resolution screen that's transreflective and viewable in direct sunlight with no backlight. Battery is proprietary...

Best Multi Purpose GPS so far...

Date of Review:  May 22, 2006
Review: After using many other types of GPS receivers, I finally ended up with the GPSMap276C. The choice for this machine came after lots of reading and studying what was available. Garmin made it very clear that for car use, you need the (extra) road...

complicated and bulky

Date of Review:  Nov 28, 2009
It's Good For: Travel, Navigation, Cars
Review: bulky and expensive option for gps units and has too many buttons making it very difficult to operate. I found this to be a pain, I switched to a simpler unit and was much happier.
