Great sport GPS, small, light, and useful!

Date of Review:  Feb 24, 2007
The Bottom Line: Recommended. This is a running/workout GPS and doesn't pretend to be anything else, and it works great for that purpose.
Review: The Garmin Forerunner 205 GPS is exactly what I was looking for in a sport GPS. Small, light, functional, and easy -- and much more convenient than my old Garmin 12 brick!

I enjoy trail running, and I wanted to be able to track what I was...

Don't plug it into USB or else

Date of Review:  Apr 4, 2009
The Bottom Line: Be sure to recharge the Forerunner 205 with its own power supply before connecting it to a computer for downloading.
Review: Our Garmin Forerunner 205 has damaged two of our computer motherboards after plugging it into a USB port. This has only happened when the Forerunner was heavily used for a couple hours and needed to be recharged. The first time it happened I thought...

This thing really works

Date of Review:  Apr 2, 2009
The Bottom Line: From the casual to the serious, this is a good product for the person who enjoys exercising outside.
Review: My wife and I walk on a set course around our house usually 12 laps. About half way through, we would start loosing count of how many laps we had done. When she got me this watch, I was amazed at how accurate this watch is. We will walk 12 laps and...

Great training tool

Date of Review:  Oct 30, 2008
The Bottom Line: The Forerunner 205 is a great training tool for anyone who runs or bikes outside and wants to get an accurate gauge of their results.
Review: As a runner, I was constantly going online to map my routes, and syncing up the timer on my iPod to guess my pace and the time of my training runs. Pedometers weren't very accurate and were impossible to set up. The Forerunner takes the guesswork...

Great for walking, running, biking, hiking, skiing and even geocaching

Date of Review:  May 26, 2008
The Bottom Line: A convenient, powerful and worthy unit for almost any non-automotive use of GPS technology at an affordable price!
Review: My wife bikes and rollerblades a lot and would use my handheld Lowrance IFinder GO to track her speed and distance. Despite being a pretty reliable GPS (see my review) and all, she found that as it shook with her movement it would become inaccurate...

not at all accurate

Date of Review:  Jun 10, 2008
Review: I tried using this product twice, but had to return it because it was way off. It underestimated the distance I ran by about 10%.

I found this out because according to the Forerunner, I ran my slowest 5K ever. But when I used mapmyrun.com,...
