Good GPS unit for the casual user

The Bottom Line: The Etrex Legend needs a perfectly clear sky with no cloud cover or trees in order to lock on to the satellites.
Review: I bought my etrex from Costco. They had a 30 dollar off special and I've been meaning to buy a hand held GPS unit ever since my wife and I got hopelessly lost on a recent hike we took.

Where am I?

The Bottom Line: Great product. Give me an external antenna and it would be even better. Never get lost again.
Review: A great GPS, but it has trouble picking up a signal unless it has a clear shot at the sky. Never have picked up WAAS signal in Pacific Northwest. It really needs an external antenna connection. (Hint hint Garmin engineers)

Returning mine

The Bottom Line: Returning mine - terrible reception, usability, and issues with the software or positioning placed me at random spots on the planet.
Review: I bought one tried using it in different locations.. it failed all use scenarios for me. I'm returning it soon. I have used many GPSs of different types (aviation, PC accessory, etc) and this one just didn't cut it.
