Bad reset

Date of Review: Aug 20, 2007

I really like the device for seeing where I am. Especially fun when on an airplane and there's features of interest on the ground. However, you need to hold it up to the window, and many airlines technically prohibit its use.

I also like to use it to keep track of my hikes and bike rides. But here's the downside: unlike an automobile, the trip odometer has no reset button. To reset it back to zero and tell the unit you're starting a new voyage, you must scroll through menu after menu to get to the right place. It's not intuitively obvious, so you need to constantly refer to the instruction manual to do so. Alas, the manual isn't very well written, so a simple task which requires a push of a button in your car can take a half hour with this unit.
