Al Capone, GO HOME!
Date of Review: Apr 17, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you got gangster blood running through your veins, play this game and prepare for your adult career!
Your name is John "The Executioner" Doe. Your are the Godfather of an up and coming Mafia family. Your job is to gain control over an entire city and become mayor. To do this you must make money to pay for bribes. And to make money, you must extort it from innocent shop owners. You don`t extort it personally of course, you hire "hoods". You tell`em what to do, and they`ll do it. Not always with success though. If extorting money is to boring, you can always:
*Rob a bank
*Kidnap someone
*Run a wh*rehouse, brothel, speakeasy etc.
If you just want to spook someone, without making money you can:
*Blow up a building
*Torch a building
*Intimidate someone
*Kill someone
*Assault someone
etc...............
This is not as easy as it sounds. The first problem you meet in the game, is it`s complexity, to really learn you have to prepare yourself for hours of frustration and anger. So if you are short tempered or have a lack of patience this game is not recommended.
The other problem is your enemies, or allies. Because you are not alone in the city, there are three other competing families, who get pretty mad if you happen to intimidate or try to extort money from someone under their protection.
The is a game of strategy, and looks kind of like the Command & Conquer classics. The graphics aren`t outstanding, but that doesn`t matter because it is good enough to make it pretty realistic.
You watch everything from an above view, and can control your "hoods" with your mouse pointer, but the easiest is to give them assignments in the downtime.
The rest is up to you to explore!!!
