Author's Review
Game Informer is the only magazine I have ever subscribed to. I must say i am really impressed with this magazine. I will go over the sections of the magazine that make it above others.
Cover Story
This is a long look at what is to expect such as what weapons or characters that will be in the game featured on the cover of the monthly magazine
Reviews
Game Informer gives very impressive full reviews from each of the three reviewers as they point out the good and the bad of each game with lots of pictures around the page. They cover N64, Playstation, Dreamcast, and Game Boy.
Previews
They also have in-depth previews with bunches of pics and captions of what to expect when it comes out. They sometimes have a whole 2 pages for each review. They don't hold anything back. These cover PS2, Dreamcast, N64, Game Boy, and Playstation.
Feature
This magazine also offers a variety of information on upcoming peripherals such as a dreamcast dvd player or an mp3 player. They tell you before anyone else does.
At A Glance Reviews
These are short but informational reviews on various games for various systems. They show around 4 pics of each game along with the rating and review.
Photo Phile>>> Super Mini Previews
This is my favorite section of the magazine. This is where you will find small previews of upcoming games for Dreamcast, PS2, N64, and Playstation. These previews have great pictures that really bring out the best of what to look forward in each game. The dreamcast ones are especially great looking.
G.I.P.C.
Basically the Game Informer PC section which takes a look at a couple of pc games. There is also a PC quickies section which is the same as the "at a glance reviews" for the consoles.
Walkthrough
In each edition there is a different complete walkthrough of a newly released game. This includes all you need to know to beat the game.
Secret Access
This is the code section dealing with different consoles. Each is separated with about 7 games with codes for each. There is also a "Code of the Month", and a special Gameshark section with a bunch of gamehark codes for different games.
Classic GI
Near the very back of the magazine there is a "CLASSIC GI" section which takes a look at older games on different systems. It gives a short look back and a brief review of games for the Nintendo and Genesis, to the Virtual Boy and Playstation. They really point out classics such as Chrono Trigger, and Super Mario RPG!
This is a great magazine and for the price, you can't go wrong with such a great magazine. Go and subscribe to this magazine or at least buy one at your retail store. You won't be disappointed.
