Author's Review
This is a terrific game, we have so much fun playing Life that our kids are always asking to play. We usually play as a family, but when we get tired, with the host narration my 6 year old (who doesn't read yet) can still play against computer opponents if he wants to! There is also an online option to join a network game and play other challengers via the internet (even includes a chat option!).
To begin the game you pick a car and a character and your off. You can choose from the Classic Board Game version (you collect life tiles for redemption later) or you can choose the Enhanced version (our favorite) where you get to play games of chance in "Life's little games" and you even get to exact revenge! Just like the board game, you get to choose college or career, pay taxes, buy, stock, insurance, get married and have children! If you should run out of money, you can even take a bank loan and keep going. Of course the ultimate goal of either version is to retire with the most money.
The graphics are great, there are lots of funny jokes and cartoons throughout the game. You can zoom in and out to view the game board and get a sense on you location. After you spin you come down to driving level view as you pass through all the game spaces. The board is broken down into decades and the background music matches the decade that you happen to be passing through (which you can turn off if you get tired of it). You can save up to seven games so if you don't finish a game you can always come back later.
They game installed easily and plays as smooth as silk. Hasbro Interactive also makes other classic CD games like Sorry and Monopoly.
