I have been looking for a suitable, lightweight, compact mp3 player for a very long time. I didn't have a whole lot of money so I was absolutely ecstatic when I found the GPX 1 GB MP3 Player for only $20.00. It has served me very well for the past 6 months and can say I am still quite content with it.
Memory
This GPX MP3 player has a 1 GB memory card. It holds roughly 500 songs, though that number is diminished by the length of the songs. Just to give you and idea, I have about 100 20 minute, and 160 5-7 minute songs on mine.
Size
This MP3 player is about 2" long and 1" wide, abruptly the size of a mini box of matches. It is so little you almost forget that you have it in your pocket. The screen is roughly 1" by 1/2".
Durability
I have had mine for about 6 months and I can proudly say that it is as good as new. I have dropped it on the sidewalk, stepped on it, dropped in a sink full of water and it is still working like a charm. I fully expect it to last at least another year.
Color
The only color that this MP3 player comes in is black. It is very well polished and shiny and tends to hold that luster extremely well. Around the very outside of the screen is a silver, mirror like lining that provides a very good backdrop for the information being played across the screen.
Accessories
This player features a double headphone jack, perfect for allowing your buddies to get in on the fun. On the left side is a hold switch used to disengage all other buttons i.e. volume, skip, etc.. On the right side there is a button used to switch from a USB to MTP setting. Just below is a mode button to switch through repeat 1, repeat all, random, and random repeat. Just below that is an equilizer button allowing you to switch through these settings: Normal, Pop, Rock, Classic, Jazz, and Bass. On the back bottom right corner is a reset button, hole if you will. This will completely erase all of the music on your player to allow you a fresh start.
Featured in a circle on the bottom half of the player is the volume, play, stop, pause, and skip buttons. There is no way to skip through songs, so you have to browse through on a song by song basis. I find it is usually easiest to use the random feature to get close to where you want to go.
Charging
It charges through a USB or MTP connection. Though you cannot listen to music while it is charging.
Screen
The information of your song slides across the screen and exits on the other side. This includes the name of the song, the artist, and the album. Just above this is the number of the song and the time elapsed. In the upper left hand corner is the volume display, and opposite it is the battery display.
