Quite faithful port, but not perfect.
Pros:
Stylus control works excellent! Fun in both single and multiplayer.
Cons:
Quite short. Stupid AI.
The Bottom Line:
FPS games work very well on the DS due to the stylus-control and GoldenEye : Rogue Agent is a good example. Not the best on DS, but still very good.

GoldenEye : Rogue Agent is a DS port of the console versions of the same game. So how does it stack up against the console versions?
GoldenEye : Rogue Agent is set in the James Bond-universe, however, Bond himself is nowhere to be seen. This time, you play as a villain. Kicked out from M16, you get picked up by Goldfinger who'll have you carry out various missions around the world in the war against Dr NO.
Rouge Agent is a first person shooter, so all action is seen from the eyes of the player. You start with a small gun and a few grenades making your way through the levels, killing enemies and picking up things as you go.
You aim using the stylus and walk around using the D-pad; a solution which works very well. The precision is almost as good as it would be on a computer, using a mouse. The stylus is also used for picking up weapons and activating superpowers. Due to this system, gameplay is fantastic and hitting enemies is no problem at all. New weapons can be picked up from defeated enemies, and since you can only hold two at the same time, you have to choose wisely. Your mission objectives are usually to activate something or kill something. Not much variation there. The levels in which you do this are very varied though and range from tall buildings to caves and hidden bases. All are very well designed and have much detail.
There is not much sneaking in this game, compared to the other Bond-games. Your enemies are quite stupid and just rush forward to attack you so just have to strike right back. An interesting addition is that you can pick up hostages to take cover behind. You can also activate all sorts of devices around the levels (called Machine Traps) which will take down your enemies. For example, you can call up a huge drill which will run over them.
Another important part of the game is the different special abilities you have. You start of with a special vision which lets you see through walls and later on you can gain other powers such as a shield which deflects bullets a short time. The campaign has two parts. Missions and Virtual Training. In training you can face different challenges which lets you unlock new powers as well as multiplayer levels and characters. This is nice, since there is only six missions in the game and even though they are very long and well designed, its nice with some additions to make it last longer. That said, the single player mode is still a bit short.
You can also play against friends, which is very fun. The multiplayer levels are very well designed and all works fine. This mode will certainly keep you coming back if you have friends to play with. You need one game card each though, since the single-card mode only has one level.
GoldenEye : Rogue Agent is, as mentioned, a console port. And its obvious the console versions look better. Still, the DS version is quite nice. Levels are huge and have much detail and if only the textures were a bit sharper, it would look fantastic. Even the weapons look nice. Enemies have quite few polygons, but you won't notice unless they get very close to you. And there is no slow down at all. So for a first generation DS title, these graphics are great. They have been passed by other similiar games but still hold up well.
About music and sound, there isn't much to say. It works, but its nothing special.
Its clear FPS games work very well on the DS due to the stylus control and GoldenEye : Rogue Agent is a good example. Not the best FPS on the system, but certainly a very good one.
