Worst Appliance Ever Purchased!
Pros:
Quiet, attractive.
Cons:
Doesn't clean well compared to other brands, hard to load, terrible customer service.
The Bottom Line:
Save your money. While it may look good, it doesn't clean dishes well and if you get a lemon the GE customer service dept is not helpful.

We purchased this to match other GE profile appliances already installed in the home we purchased. Had I done a little research I would likely have avoided this VERY COSTLY MISTAKE. This dishwasher is quiet, attractive and the smart-dispenser is handy, but the pros end there.
I had to have it serviced multiple times within my 1-year warranty for a few reasons: Leaking, failure to drain consistently, not rinsing dishes effectively, etc. After almost 2 years of dealing with issues, the hinge on the door broke. Per the appliance repairman there was a faulty tap-weld on the hinge rendering it irreparable. I was assigned a case number and this is where my disgust intensified.
After less than 2-years of use and a laundry-list of documented problems it was pretty clear I received a lemon. GE generously(?) decided to fix the problem by offering a pro-rated price on a new, comparable unit for $400.00 One might think that is a great offer for such an expensive appliance, however the last thing I want to do is spend another 400 on top of the 1270 I already spent for a product that doesn't work 1/2 as well as the 10+ year old dinosaur I replaced when I bought it. I was told by the a member of the customer service team that he often gets complaints about the higher end models and it seems that the less features a unit has, the more reliable it tends to be. ???? But I can either accept the offer or take a $60 "good faith rebate."
On top of manufacturers defect, I also feel this machine is hard to load with plates constantly rolling around when I pull out the rack to load/unload. It doesn't clean well compared to other brands I have used (and there are quite a few), had to be serviced more frequently than any other appliance I've ever owned, and the GE customer service team is hardly there to serve the customer.
I was really hoping to come on here and read some great reviews to remove the bad taste in my mouth for this product but it seems there are many with the same bad experiences.
Save your money.
