Very Bad Dishwasher - Don't Buy

I purchased this GE PDW9280NSS dishwasher along with the matching GE range and refrigerator from Home Depot.  I had it delivered 6 weeks ago so when my kitchen was being renovated.

I installed this dishwasher 2 weeks ago and am surprised how poor it cleans.  It just doesn't clean.  I'm not talking about baked on dirt, just plain dirt.  I replaced a 10 year old Kenmore dishwasher that cleaned better.  The only way to get this dishwasher to clean is wash the dishes by hand first. 

On the good side it is a very good looking machine and matches the other appliances perfectly.  But after reading the other reviews here, I can't believe a $1000 diswasher can be so bad. The instructions even say that the dishes don't need to be rinsed first.

Home Depot wasn't much help saying that they won't take it back (even thought they say they have a 90 day return policy).  They originally said they would take it back but I would have to bring it in myself.  I said I would but then they said to return it that it can't ever been used and in the original box.  Now HD says its a problem between GE and myself.  I would think twice about ever buying large ticket items from HD since they don't stand behind the products they sell.
