Author's Review
This dishwasher hasn't been the worst one I have owned, and I like many of its features. The rack design is great for tall items like Dutch ovens, bowls, bulky items, long- stemmed glasses, odd shaped items, etc. It is very simple to operate and nice-looking inside and out. My Profile is so quiet, I sometimes can't hear if it is running unless I get up close.
Now the disappointments: Could the lower spray BE any wimpier? This machine is challenged to clean sticky food, especially in the silverware basket. There are fold down tines in the bottom rack, presumable for dome-shaped objects. But if you put a pan or bowl there as would be instinctive, the machine can't even wash out its own detergent cup. Also, if you are used to GE's soft food disposer, this machine doesn't really have one. My old Maytag could even chew through an errant olive pit or popcorn kernel. If you put dishes in that haven't been pre-rinsed, you often get a glob of food left on the bottom filter at the end of the cycle.
In less than 6 months of ownership, I have had two service calls. One to repair the water inlet solenoid, and the other to free a stuck check valve in the drainage system.
