My Mom was right!
Date of Review: Dec 28, 2004
The Bottom Line: This dishwasher looks great, runs quietly and has many attractive washing features, that doesn't make up for NOT getting dishes clean unless you CLEANLY rinse them off first.
I bought the black model. While these run around $500 I paid $250 as a clearance item and floor display.
I should have listened to my Mother.........she always told me that GE appliances are crap........Mom was right again!
this model is very sleek looking, easy to use, runs quietly. Some holders (tines) on the racks on the top & bottom are collapsible - nice for larger items. It has holders on the top rack for stemmed glassware - a nice touch! I also like the sanitized wash option - this would be a very handy feature if you wash baby bottles (which I don't!). You can also delay the start of the wash.
I've not been thrilled with my purchase though - you can't put tall dishes in without the spinning arms hitting them (except for on the far left side - you can fit ONE tall item so long as it's thin, like a cookie sheet), can't use gel dishwashing soap or powder dishwasher soap because big pots 'n' pans will block it and you wind up with it all over/in the big pots 'n' pans. Only detergent I can use consistantly is those little drop in tabs. I have learned to pre-rinse everything and rinse it well for this dishwasher sucks at removing food, dried on or not! Oh well, even if your dishes aren't clean, at least they can be sanitized! Yeah! Kill the germs on the food that's stuck on your dishes!
