Product Review

Microwave service

by   vegastedman ,   Aug 17, 2006

Pros:  The pros of this line would have to be the price and availability.

Cons:  This whole series of appliances has a reliability problem.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Author's Review

I have had my Monogram microwave for just over a year. It stopped heating properly and I called GE Service. They came and had to replace the tube and I was charged $132.00 for the 15 minutes it took to plug in a new tube. This is the first time I have ever had a microwave need service in my life. For this to happen on GE's top of the line model is a joke. The irritation is that I also bought a Monogram 48" range, 48" refrigerator, 48" vent hood and 30" warming drawer. The 48" range had to be totally replaced and the warming drawer also had to be replaced. This says little for the reliability of GE's top of the line series. Beware and consider Thermador or Viking instead. I would.
