Problems with Self Cleaning

I bought this range five years ago and have only used the "self-cleaning" feature twice. The model I have does NOT have a manual door latch. The door latches itself electronically once the "self clean" pad on the control panel is touched.

In both cases before, the door would electronically latch, the oven would clean, and then the door would NOT electronically unlatch. I called GE and they told me they've have to send a tech out at $ 85 minimum. I pushed the "cancel" button on the control panel dozens of times over three DAYS after cleaning the oven...somehow, seventy three HOURS after cleaning, the door electronically "unlatched." This is over 3 DAYS of waiting for the door to unlatch.

I just cleaned the oven again last night; the self clean cycle stopped at 10 pm. It is now after 4 pm on the NEXT DAY and the stupid "locked door" notice is flashing on the control panel, the door is securely shut, and I have no idea how long I will have to wait for the door to unlock this time.
