We researched the latest models last spring. The GE 1860 was very highly rated by a consumer magazine.

We discovered that Sears carries GE model JES1855 which seems to be identical to the JE1860. The Sears JES1855 price was considerably lower than all the JE1860s we could find online. Yes, I even called GE directly and the lady there agreed that it is the same machine.
After using it for almost every conceivable function, we are delighted with the unit. It is fast, quiet, and definitely requires fewer button pushes than our previous microwave oven.
It has a turntable with a 15 inch diameter, which is larger than most ovens. Apparently 13 inches is the most common turntable size. In addition, this was the only model we saw that allows one to turn off the turntable, such as when you put in a large square pan.

It does have a very good 'sensor' which measures the amount of steam in the chamber to assess whether the item you are cooking is 'done'.

Our unit also came with a plastic tub for steaming vegetables inside the microwave, and we are very pleased with the results of cooking vegetables that way.
