Poor Quality Control, Ceramic Cooktop is Not Durable

Date of Review: Jul 31, 2009

The first one I got from Lowes had lots of scalloping in the metal on the top rolled front edge that GE covered with gobs of the white finish. Sorry guys, you can't cover your poor craftsmanship with paint. The second one was better but still not spot on. Then the ceramic cooktop material basically chipped off when I used one of the burners the very first time I used it (with an enameled pot). Suggestion: Use glass pans or your beautiful ceramic top won't be for long. Finally, the front left burner keeps going red and then off, like it's cycling, when I want the heat to be constant to boil water for steaming. I'm not sure if it's designed to do this or just defective on the one I have.

I guess all this just proves the old adage that you get what you pay for folks.
