Weâve had this beast for about six months. It does a normal job washing but has no lint filter. Material, dust and fiber-like, is left in the bottom of the tub and throughout the clothes. Service said that the lint problem is known by GE. We were told that itâs up to the dryer to remove the debris. Thereâs just so much you can expect your dryer to do and to remove all the stuff that the washer creates and leaves behind is asking too much. Yes, we sort and moderate detergent and all that other stuff. Although the clothes are free of soil, itâs of small consequence when you have to spend lots of time with a lint roller before ironing or going out in public.
Noise: Unbelievable!! From a deep rumble to the roar of a jet at takeoff, this baby makes itself known. At first we laughed about it-ready for launch! The amusement value has worn off.
Do not expect to wash in hot water. No kidding, you canât get hot. We worked around that, sort of, by resetting the darn thing each time it shut off the hot water. That takes about five minutes of being on constant vigil and a dozen resets. This is not a passive activity and is similar in time consumption to washing by hand-literally!
I guess GE, with their new product lines, really donât give a darn about repeat customers. We will not be buying GE anything again, period. Oh, we got a card from Service to call GE with our problems. Take it back, boys! Remember, there is a Warranty of Merchantability. We will sue.
