Not a great buy for the price

I seem to be having a real hard time finding the right phone these days! I just bought a Panasonic 5.8GHz and now this.....and I had to return both within a very short time due to all the problems! But let me stop complaining about it, and start reviewing....here goes....

THE PRODUCT AND FEATURES

- Can leave a memo [voice message] for yourself on the ans machine

THE PRICE
$89.99 at BestBuy [I believe Circuit City has it for the same price too]

THE GOOD
-Intereference from wireless network was much less with this compared with the Panasonic 5.8GHz I bought earlier

THE BAD
-Answering machine- does not seem to allow my caller to leave messages longer than 15seconds. Now I have heard of fast talkers, but 15 seconds??? I can hardly get my name in a message in that long! The actual default setting is 2 or 3 minutes, but for some reason, the piece I got thought 15 seconds was a great time to set for itself. I could not change this. Nothing changed even after calling customer service who made me disconnect everything and call back in 20 minutes! Maybe the customer service guy who was helping me was going off his shift in 20 minutes? He must've had a good laugh!

Initially the answering machine did not come on at all. When I reduced the rings to 4 rings, it came on for whatever reason. This is the same as the Panasonic 5.8GHz phone I bought earlier.

-The base phone is not very user friendly- there are tiny buttons on the right hand side of the base for changing the announcement [answering machine message] and answer on or off and memo

- The caller ID is not very refined. If a person calls from a cell phone, it will display "WIRELESS CALLER xxx-xxx-xxxx [number of person calling]". This is the case even if you have thier number in the memory. It will not display their name at all!

- Phone book is not very friendly either. It cannot be used alphabetically. You cannot put too much information under each entry

- Menu options are difficult to navigate

All in all, too much trouble for one phone! I would just buy something else.
