Pros: no lines needed for remote units.

Cons: If base is dysfunctional - you lose everything. Plop down another $200 for a set

this is the second time for buying these base/cordless systems. Both times the base was dysfunctional within 2 years which left me with no service at all. Both times the cost/time to send in for replacement was greater than just buying new. The help line knows this - unplug it for 15 minutes - and after that no help. I'm back to cheap $20 separate phones. Expensive does not make good if the MFG won't stand behind the products.
