lots of static on ANALOG cordless

I liked the price and the fact that it included two cordless handsets, as well as the fact that the 5.8 GHz wouldn't interfere with my wi-fi network. As soon as I unpacked, though, I worried about how light the base unit was. But that ended-up being the least of my worries. I charged the cordless handsets for about 36 hours. Ever since, people have been complaining about distortion and static on them.

I double-checked the box -- it says "digital answerer" so now I'm assuming that only the recorder is digital, i.e., the cordless handsets are analog, not digital. This would probably explain the poor audio quality.

I'm definitely going to return the system.
