lots of static on ANALOG cordless

by   bsmith1051 ,  Jun 17, 2006
Pros: no problems w setup
Cons: terrible sound quality on cordless
Review: I liked the price and the fact that it included two cordless handsets, as well as the fact that the 5.8 GHz wouldn't interfere with my wi-fi network. As soon as I unpacked, though, I worried about how light the base unit was. But that ended-up being ...

Huge disappointment

by   bengaltigger ,  May 4, 2007
Pros: Nice feel to it. Appealing appearance.
Cons: Severe volume problems along with many other nuisances. I'm replacing mine.
The Bottom Line: Previous great experience with GE Phones didn't prepare me for the disappointments in this model. I would steer clear of this one.
Review: Reading the manual with these phones is a much. So many of the functions are there but not intuitively. You have to know how to use them to even know they exist. I've read the manual, and I've set the settings. Even so, this phone fell way short of ...

Prone to cutoffs

by   unzarjones ,  Mar 29, 2007
Pros: Many features on base unit. Combination corded and cordless.
Cons: Inferior voice quality on handsets, drops connections frequently. Base needs to be tilted.
The Bottom Line: Substandard engineering and performance.
Review: I purchased this phone from Walmart after guessing it was one of the better, and pricier, phone systems they had. The handsets are terrible for dropping calls even when they are within 15 feet of the base unit. Recently one handset has stopped charging ...

Do NOT buy this phone. GE...you should be ashamed!

by   scrawl ,  Nov 3, 2007
Pros: System looks nice.
Cons: Everything else.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this phone like the plague. If you've already purchased it, see if you can return it.
Review: I purchased this phone new at Home Depot about 4 months ago, and sadly, I wasted $70. Other than it's appearance, this phone has absolutely no redeeming qualities...and as you can see by the other reviews, this isn't a fluke. If you have recently ...

Poor sound quality. Distorted and muffled. No one can hear me.

by   emptor74 ,  Dec 24, 2006
Pros: Corded base will work without power.
Cons: Sounds like two cans and a string. Small memory. Dim Display. No mute on handsets.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this phone.
Review: I was excited when I bought this phone. I purchased it at Walmart at a discount for approx. $65.00. This one would be a step down from the Panasonic phone I had that was hit by lightning. At first it seemed to have everything I was looking for that my ...

Where was Quality Control on this one ? Read some of the *possible* reasons.

by   javman01 ,  Mar 28, 2007
Pros: Two cordless handsets Looks sharp Optional headset plug on the side of handsets
Cons: No mute on handsets Numbers don't light up Memory features not very intuitive
The Bottom Line: Honestly folks, don't be fooled by the good looks of this phone. The overall quality of these handsets are no better than a $20 children's walkie-talkie at close range.
Review: I work from home and since I'm on conference calls allot in a wireless environment, I wanted a 5.8GHz cordless phone set. OK, maybe thats[title] too harsh. Here are the top 5 reasons why this phone may have passed the QC dept: 5. Originally meant to ...

Not Happy With GE

by   indiguy ,  Jun 1, 2007
Pros: Corded and two cordless handsets, digital answering machine, hold and mute functions on base.
Cons: Sound quality, cordless range, answering machine volume, caller ID combines calls.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this phone, there are too many issues with it. You can find something better.
Review: I was enticed into buying this phone because it was corded, in case of power outages, and had two cordless handsets, which can be conveniently placed. Also it comes with a digital answering machine, speaker phone, caller ID. And the price I thought was ...

Don't get this phone

by   harnestin ,  Jul 28, 2006
Pros: looks and caller ID on all 3 parts
Cons: Handsets are muffled, cut in and out only 30 numbers storage, 10 per phone
Review: I got this phone, thinking it was a sleek, high speed low drag with options that would fit my needs. Boy, was I wrong. If you wanted this phone for an over priced nice paper weight, this is it. This phone for communication-, you're better with putting ...

less than one year and it is trash

by   cordless_no ,  Jan 11, 2008
Pros: no lines needed for remote units.
Cons: If base is dysfunctional - you lose everything. Plop down another $200 for a set
Review: this is the second time for buying these base/cordless systems. Both times the base was dysfunctional within 2 years which left me with no service at all. Both times the cost/time to send in for replacement was greater than just buying new. The help ...

Very disappointed

by   bwasley ,  Jul 15, 2007
Pros: Looks great.
Cons: Complete power failure causes unit to malfunction
Review: The look and feel are great and the sound quality acceptable. I also like to dial without raising the handset as I use this phone in a home business platform. However, the phone (after the warrantee expired) started to shut itself off, and I mean off. ...
