Great Concept, Wish it worked

The concept of using Cell with a Cordless Home Phone is Great, but the Quality and irksome traits of the phone leave a lot to be desired. It cuts in and out frequently as some cheaper speakerphones do, but if you hold it just right it seems to work OK. The cell connections occasionally hang up the line, and you have to remove power from the base to reboot the circuitry and clear things up. Once it is working it seems to work well, although maximum volume is lower than most phones I have used. If you are talking on the land line, and a cell call comes in, it is extremely confusing and annoying because the cell rings with one tone, and the Cell Fusion rings in another tone right in your ear since you were already talking on the land line call.They should consider having the handsets disable ringing and only beep in that situation to let you know a call is arriving from the cell. Other than these issues, we have used it successfully with two Pocket PC cell phones. It would also be nice to improve the dialing directory and allow sending all entries to another handset instead of tirelessly having to send them one number at a time or use USB. It would also be nice to use the directory of the Cell Phone instead of having to load it into both phones. The support site is typical now days with very little real support being given to discuss real issues. It contains the basic dumb user information, but nothing that really answers your questions and no place to make suggestions other than in Public forums like this. It would actually be to their benefit to take their own suggestions and complaints and hide them from the public, but then again these companies never learn! All in all, I would probably not invest the purchase price had I known about this phone what I know now. The quality is just not good enough for me to use it for working from home, so I still have to rely on other phone hardware for work related calls. I would have paid $200.00 Plus for a decent phone with these features, but to me it's not worth it to pay $150.00 for a mediocre phone with these features that only sometimes work. I am not yet convinced that I can give up Land Line since the cell features do not seem quite reliable yet. That is really the only reason I considered this because all of the other phone features are comparatively weak at best as compared to the Uniden TRU-8860 phones I used to use.
