Shutoff Signal

Pros: Before buying I asked an appliance repair shop. They highly recommended GE.

Cons: Just the shutoff signal's sound.

It's my understanding that GE is a very good brand and I just purchased this dryer. After my first load I found the shutoff signal sounds just like a smoke alarm only a bit softer. I don't know if that bothers anyone else, but I am surprised and disappointed. I called GE and advised them of this. I can shut the signal off completely, but in so doing have lost my choice to use the function. Just thought you all might like to know.
