A Top Notch Dryer - Not Without Minor Problems

After minor problems with our washer within the first 4-months of use, I have been continually worried that the same may be true for the dryer...

That said, a week after service on our washer to fix a gear grinding problem, the dryer has begun making a very loud, harmonious vibration. At this point in time, we've not contacted GE repair as we have a strong hunch that the answer will be 'normal operating noise' but, it certainly had not done this prior to a few weeks ago.

While the noise is a little louder than other dryers that I'm accustomed to, it's not obcene in my opinion.

The looks and functionality of the machine are TOP NOTCH. The sleek platinum finish and the HIGH efficiency drying is a very nice change from our old Kenmore which had already seen its day.

The technology that is in the dryer is impressive in that it will automatically adjust dry times based on moisture levels in the load. For example, if it starts drying on a 45 minute cycle and senses that the load is nearly dry after 20 minutes, it'll trim off time so that you're not tumbling dry clothes for an additional 20 minutes - thus saving energy. I like this. Very smart, in my opinion. While I realize that this isn't new technology, it is to me. :)

Communications with the washer have been flawless thusfar. Others had reported problems with that feature however; to date, we've not had a single issue like this. Further, beyond the noise (which hasn't affected functionality in the least seemingly), the machine is 100% solid.
