Our opinion on ; GE Profile Harmony set

We purchased the GE PROFILE HARMONY set on May 16, 2006 with delivery on May 19, 2006. we are very impressed with capacity and efficiency of both the washer and the dryer.
Washer has no center agitator. It instead uses a center disk on the bottom. So far it's great. It has the large capacity, spin speed and high efficiency of a front loader with the convenience of a top loader. It also takes up less space than the front loader too with no extra pedestal to buy. Also, there is no mildew odor from keeping the washer lid closed like a front loader sometimes gets from keeping it's door closed. It's a very nice washer.

The dryer is also very nice. It dries super fast and the clothes do not get all tangled up. The washer and dryer communicate with each other through a usb port which seems to work fine. The washer tells the dryer the size and type of load coming in and the dryer automatically regulates it's settings accordingly. They both use a touch screen type control - no dials or switches. As far as the dryer, yes it is a bit more noisy than we expected, but not too much so to be a problem.

We have had one problem with the set. It was the touch screen on the dryer. They came twice and eventually replaced the screen and circuit board. Service for us has been great.

Regardless, we recommend the set very highly and would just add that purchasing the extra maintenance coverage is certainly a good idea.
