Pros:
very fast dry time, extra hot sanitizing setting which is great for allergies, stylish.
Cons:
made by GE, clunking noise, and pricey for a dryer, lint gets past filter.
The Bottom Line:
My biggest concern is the noise, I'm afraid it wont last 9 years, and I don't like the idea of calling a repair man just to clean lint.

We just had this machine delivered for the second time. It is the lower end version without the extra bells and whistles. I am testing it by renting the machine for one month from Aarons Sales and Lease. The reason for this is that I have heard many horror stories about the difficulties of returning these products to places like Home Depot and Lowes. This way I can try the product without worry, return it and try another model from a different manufacturer.
I'm beginning to think my strategy will pay off greatly.
This is the second dryer they have delivered. The first one they dented and the noise it made was horrible! Sounded like drying mens boots in it. This one seems to have a similar problem, but no noticable dent and not so loud, but very noticable. If this can't be fixed easily then I definitely cannot recommend this product.
Also, the lint filter doesn't work well, and although it is easy to peel the lint off of it is not easy to get the lint out of the machine. They need to come up with a better way. I cannot even fit my vac hose in to clean it. At this rate it will be full of lint in a month. When will someone come up with a self cleaning lint area. Perhaps someday. If I could just fit my vac attatchment inside...
I am only renting this one, but it goes for about $700. at Home Depot. I really don't see how this machine deserves to be so pricey. I could see if it had a self-cleaning feature, or if it was made extra sturdy...etc. They have not put so much into it that it deserves to cost twice what a conventional dryer costs. Maybe $500, but only because of the style and quick dry feature.
It's too bad because I absolutely LOVE the washer that goes with it.
One other problem with it...it is made by GE...we have hard feelings here in my city (Pittsfield, MA) due to the way they pulled out of here leaving behind a whole lot of toxic waste and leaving our city a virtual ghost town. I've tried to forgive, and actually did buy my first washer/dryer from them, but I don't exactly trust them to stand by anything they do. I do have to admit however, that my other set lasted for 9 years. I could have used a few more years, but I didn't maintain them well so I am actually very pleased with the performance.
