Author's Review
Here's the deal on Gangstarr's double disc, entitled Full Clip, if you don't have it, you are dead whack. This is the only double disc that i have ever heard that can be listened to straight through. This isn't one of those fake, masked up doubles that wears out your track skip button. DJ Premier is the best producer in hip hop and back in the day he was even better. But that is the beauty of this LP its old school Gangstarr. All the real hip hop fans know the old sound, amazing scratches and intellectual lyrics. Guru is exactly what his name suggests, a lyrical guru. Disc one is the more commercial Gangstarr, it includes the singles "Full Clip" and "Discipline," but it is still far from the MTV rap that suburban America has grown to love. The one negative that this disc possesses is the repetitiveness of some of Guru's lyrics. Give the man a break, he's been around for over a decade. Plus, Guru is the only one who can make the same sentence sound ill in 45 different ways, so you won't even notice. So if you haven't picked this up, do so, if not then you are just a punk.
