fuji s3100 or s3500 (same camera)

The Bottom Line: Is to avoid the fuji s3100 if you care about fast operations .. shutter lag. Buy if you want cheap camera that takes good pictures , excellent battery life.

Whats fair to say though, is its a very good camera, for the money. It takes double aa batteries and they last a long time. It has nice 6x zoom which I wished had at least 8 x zoom. It has a cheap feel and a little large compared to other cameras. Its an excellent buy for the money as it took very nice shots inside and out. However the killer here is lack of manual options and way worse then average shutter lag. While shutter lag doesn't appear immediately worse then cameras years ago, compared to newer camera its slow. When you add on slow operations, it kills this camera . Ultimately I determined the shutter lag is slow enough to strongly recommend against getting this camera if you want to get the shot when you see it cause you will miss it. So whats the point of lugging a rather large camera around when the zoom can't even reach 8x zoom or if you can't get shutter control? The bottom line is this camera was returned. It was as someone said, close to really being a standout camera but fuji like other camera makers often don't want to make a too good cheap camera.
