After a year I love my E510 more than ever

I must have been one of the first to own the Fujifilm E510. From the beginning I have just loved it. It offers an amazing range of shooting options, from rank amateur to advanced (non-professional) snapshooters...like me.

The main reason that I bought it was for the 5.2 megapixels and the wide angle lens (35mm equivalent 28-91mm). I got more than I expected. The various shooting modes have features like spot or multi metering, three levels of sharpness, ability to actually brighten or dim the flash in addition to EV controls that don't require going into a menu, but are done on the viewing screen. The shooting modes include Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Full Manual, Automatic and four scene modes.

There's a viewfinder for lousy light situations. A super macro mode has allowed me to take pictures I never thought I could. These include a few shots of a Praying Mantis where the head of this insect fills a large part of the frame.

I've taken over a thousand pictures with this camera. Those that turned out poorly were always due to my misjudgement and no fault of the camera. I can recommend this camera to anyone who would like the ability to go from auto mode into taking photographs with amazing amounts of control.
