Pros:
clean, sleek aesthetics very attractively priced
Cons:
button access and functionality
picture quality
The Bottom Line:
I don't recommend this camera. The camera is plagued with all the errors replete in late model Fuji's in that class.

Author's Review
The Fuji 5.1 faced a hefty group of excellent cameras in its class in late 05 and early 06. Aesthetically they had designed it with the sturdy block look with very good retracting lens after shots. It had a sheer silver almost brushed stainless steel look to it.
Most all the operational buttons were functionally designed
for optimum usage by the photographer except for two which scream out for justice. The on off power switch is directly on top of the camera however recessed into a bit of an elongated narrow groove about 3/4 inch long. I often found myself pressing my finger down two, three and four times before the camera responded. Secondly the main review button or zoom depending upon what phase of operation you were in, was poorly placed and hardly intuitively designed. There were arrow buttons on each side of this which made you instinctively think it would operate like almost all other digitals with the left for backward review and the right for forward review. Also the long button in the middle had an extremely tight tolerance of movement which made it almost feel gritty or dirty at times. These two negative aspects by themselves lost the sale for me.
They had retained the view finder [which many now are opting away from making LED serve two functions]which delivered a very professional site picture. The markings. the lettering, the frame bars were distinct well contrasted and functioned superlatively.
The Fuji softpix software is another weak point on this model and indeed IS SO on the vast majority of setups I have incurred where there is MORE than a SINGLE camera to be used on the computer system. Inevitably Fuji software fouls the system and the time and toil involved in getting back to starting point is ridiculously long.
Additionally the quality of final product not on a par with better cameras in that class.
