Serviceable Camera for the Beach

I purchased this camera for a vacation at a lake resort, knowing that my baby daughter would be swimming for the first time, and that I would want to capture memories of the event at the beach. I was pleased with the waterproof aspect of this camera. As a bonus, my daughter found the camera fascinating--it was very brightly-colored and did rather look more like a toy camera than a real one--so it was easy enough to get her to look at the camera for me. The strap for the camera was basically a gigantic, thick rubber band, but it was quite strong and adequate for a disposal camera. Being used to non-waterproof cameras and disposal cameras, I did find the film advance wheel and lever for taking pictures a bit cumbersome, but not prohibitively so.

The main drawback of this camera is the lack of a built-in flash--it's only good for taking photos outside on a sunny day. The few shots of my daughter in her swim suit that I took inside our cabin before heading to the beach did not turn out at all. All of the outdoor shots came out clear and the photos were of good quality. Overall, if you're looking for a camera for the beach or other sunny yet wet setting, this is a decent one, and might be a good disposable camera for kids to use on vacation, since it is waterproof and the plastic case makes it sturdier than cardboard disposables.
