The Bottom Line: Great camera huge feature set. High quality 8.1 MegaPix. Movie modes. lots of photographic settings for speed and aperture for manual shots also fully automatic for point and shoot.
This is a great camera. it does things no other camera I have ever owned can do. For example, the zoom capabilities are amazing. All in one lens you will get a 35mm equivalent of 27mm wide angle to 486mm telephoto. The users manual is all in English and it's about thick too, about 3/8th of an inch or 9mm. No measly pamphlet here. This camera has a battery discharge function that will help cycle the battery's keeping them in tip top shape. Something you won't find anywhere is the Read/write speed. It's 5.2Mb and 3.4 Mb/second respectively. It uses XD and SD memory cards, and it uses the new high capacity SDHC flash memory. The dual image stabilization works like a champ. I zoomed the camera out to max, focusing on the back of a car way down the road. I was bouncing around riding in a car & it was nearly impossible to even see the other cars rear end, much less keep it squarely in the LCD screen so I could see it well. I took the shot when I thought it was at least on the screen and it came out just as clear as a bell. WOW! It is truly amazing what this camera can do with an image. Blurry photo's are gone forever! A thing of the past!
When the use of the maximum size (8.1Gb) SDHC memory card you'll have the pleasure of recording a 227.3 minute long movie, in 320 x 240 pixels. With the higher quality 640 x 480 pixels selected you'll have 141.1 minutes of recording time available @ 30 frames/sec. Now about some sound, Yup, mono, but you can control the volume. The LCD screen in the back is large (2.5") and bright and you can change its resolution from low to high you can also increase the brightness of the screen to see the contents better in bright light.
