My husband & I started looking for a good camera to buy about 6 months before the birth of our son. This was THE first real camera buy for both of us. We wanted to be all set for our little bundle of joy. We knew we'd be taking A LOT of pictures.
There's a local camera shop, Rivers Camera, a block away from our apartment, so that's where we went to look. After talking to the salesman at some length about what we were looking for in a camera.. 3 picture sizes, zoom, auto focus, APS, date imprinting, drop in film loading, redeye reduction. We ended up choosing the Fuji Endeavor 210ix Zoom. We got all those features, and a whole lot more too: LCD, focus lock, dx sensing, self-timer, tripod socket and last but not least, a built-in flash.
It's a great first camera... We love it. The pictures it takes are crisp & clear. The developing costs are reasonable. What more could you want?
My only advice to future owners of this camera is: If you are taking pictures indoors, even though you might think that there is enough light in the room, use the flash anyway. We found out about this the hard way. Now you won't have to as well... :)
Enjoy!
