Front Runner Front-Loader

For me, the main reason to buy a front-loading washer was to be able to stack the washer and the dryer in our small laundry room. I was leery about purchasing a front-loader after hearing quite a bit about possible mold/mildew problems. However, after careful consideration I ended up purchasing a Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000ES washer and a matching AEQ7000ES dryer.

The washer is very easy to use, even my 10-year-old daughter learned how to select a program and start the washer on the first try. One has to be careful to remove coins and other loose items from the clothes, though, otherwise they make the most awful racket during the wash/rinse cycles.

The Affinity 7000ES comes with a built-in water heater, which comes in handy especially when trying to run the dishwasher at the same time. The washer is extremely quiet and there is hardly any vibration even at full spin. It seems to use very little water, but clothes come out very clean every time.

After two months of heavy use, the washer has held up well. The only complaint I have is that the door feels flimsy and is hard to close. It tends to pop open by itself unless it's held shut while starting the washing cycle.
