Great full sized front-loader

We upgraded from a 'condo-sized' washer & dryer to a full sized stacking set and have been very pleased with the decision.

I was surprised to learn that Frigidaire has been making front-loading washers longer than almost any other manufacturer. We debated between this washer and a slightly larger Whirlpool, but having had previous bad experiences with Whirlpool brand appliances, we chose to give Frigidaire a try.

The front controls are very easy to use. The dial is clear and the displays show exactly what stage your load of wash is in. We like the 'countdown' display that shows how long is left until the the full cycle is completed.

There are places to dump detergent, bleach, and fabric softener. We don't use fabric softener but the detergent & bleach deliveries work great. There's never any sticky gunk left over after a wash to gum things up.

The wash is effective and quick. The fast spin cycle gets a lot of water out and it takes less time to dry a full load. There is a small issue with water accumulating in the rubber ring around the inside of the door. If you close the door & leave the water there, it can create a musty smell which gets into the next load of wash. We make sure to wipe the seal out after each wash and this solves the problem.
