Solid, good enough for our data center
Pros:
Well-made (in the USA), reliable.
Cons:
Higher cost, but the unit will last longer than its foreign-built competition.
The Bottom Line:
If you need to keep some people or equipment cool, this is a good choice for a medium-sized room.

Author's Review
We're using a Friedrich QuietMaster SS12L30 AC unit in one of our company's smaller data centers. I must admit that when I first took the job, I was a bit dubious about using such a unit for this purpose, because even though it's a commercial-grade unit it's not necessarily made for this type of environment. The thing has been running non-stop, 24 hours a day for at least a year no with no signs of slowing down. Admittedly, this unit is probably not as large as we should have, but it has been keeping this southern-facing room at or below 70 degrees all summer, which is not an easy task.
I've found it easy to set, with all the controls clearly marked and no confusing indicators. When it's time to change the filter, an LED lights, and opening the front to remove it does not instill fear that I'm going to break off the front-piece, as has happened with other, cheaper, units. The filter itself is your basic black foam, which is easy to wash by hand in the sink, and it comes out and goes back in easily.
While you may pay more for this brand and model, or for something similar, you will most certainly find that it will last longer and therefore cost you less in the long-run. Go with the smart money, and buy USA!
