Overall not a very bad product, but flawed in several ways
Pros:
easy to use, good for young readers
Cons:
limited quantity of words, synonyms as definitions
The Bottom Line:
I would not recommend this product, unless the user were an elementary or middle school student, because there are limited word entries and no pronunciation tool.

Author's Review
This product is "alright" as a dictionary. However, there are quite a few problems with it.
First, it quickly becomes apparent that the dictionary was made particularly for younger students, as many complex terms dealing with topics such as literature, medicine and science are missing. There are many terms in those fields that ARE present in the dictionary, but not enough for one to feel comfortable enough to plunge into an article or book dealing with those topics and feel certain that I would always have a reference to help me understand unfamiliar technical terms.
Also, too many entries use synonyms of a word as its definition, causing you to have to search for the definitions of those synonyms, many of which have several definitions themselves. Clearly, this can become vexing.
Another drawback is that there is no way to know how to pronounce a work, there is no phonetic guide. And since English is not a phonetic language (i.e. words do not necessarily sound as they are written), this can be a problem when you try to newly-learned words in actual conversation.
I hope you found my review useful, and I recommend that if you are willing to pay more than 50 dollars for an electronic dictionary, you should look elsewhere. Unfortunately I have no particular suggestions, as this dictionary is the only electronic one that I currently possess.
