Product Review

Quite good

by   Powerlight ,   Mar 18, 2000

Pros:  super weapons, good effects, bots

Cons:  confusing at first, no teams in multiplayer

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

Forsaken is in some ways pretty original, it's still a doom clone, but with one major difference making it similiar to Descent. In Forsaken you don't only walk on the ground - you float in enviroment without gravity so you can slide not only left and right but also up and down. This system allows to build levels looking like someone's guts form inside. For first it's a bit confusing but after a while, an average gamer can handle it. The levels are mission based and you can't save them if you haven't got any controler pak. The graphics are made of quite simple lygons but the terrific textures and unbelievable fluorescent effects save it from being average. Probably the best part is multiplayer in which you can fight even against bots (computer controled players). Since there can only be four players (human or CPU controlled) you must forget dreaming about big team battles and sadly even the four players can't team between them. But the biggest drawback of multiplayer lies in very confusing graphics - if the screen is divided into four parts, you can hardly be sure if there's a new weapon or shield or oponent. After a few games you can be used to it but still can't play it as Golden Eye where everybody knows the arenas like their own flat.
