The Bottom Line: Good, solid SUV with excellent handling, but needed a few repairs. I recommend this SUV for it's performance, but it may need to have a little work done at times.

2006 Explorer - two years later

The Bottom Line: Don't know that I can recommend the Explorer. Con's outweigh the pros. Maybe mine is just the 'lemon' but I'm not so sure.
Review: I was going to buy a Ford truck, but decided on the Explorer instead. Found a Certified Pre-owned 2006 with 16,000 miles on it at the local dealer. In the past 10 months, I've put about 13,000 miles on it, and it's been in for warranty work 4 times...

The Bottom Line: This has been a pleasant change from Ford's past vehicles. It is safe, decent MPG, and dependable.

The Bottom Line: This vehicle is not appropriate for non-paved roads, farm use, or construction sites. There are better choices for fuel economy and such if you drive only paved roads.
