2 years old and going strong
Pros:
Comfortable seats on long drives
Reliability
Good gas mileage
Cons:
It's nothing special to look at...styling is a little generic
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this to a buyer who doesn't need an eye-catching sporty car. It's dependable and comfortable a good buy for a starter car.

Author's Review
I've had my focus for going on 2 years and 40,000 miles. It is the ZX4 model so it has great features like a 6 disc CD changer and MP3 player, heated seats and power everything. The new styling is nice, it's not quite as "bubble" looking as the older Focus and the spoiler adds a real nice sporty touch.
The transmission shifts very smoothly and at the right times and there's a surprising amount of get-up-and-go both at slow and high speeds. The engine is quiet, even at high speeds, but can be a little loud under heavy acceleration. Suspension is neither too stiff nor too soft so the ride is comfortable. This car has never been into the shop for anything other than an oil change. My only problem with it is the driver side seat heater stopped working, I haven't bothered to get it fixed because I recently moved to the Nevada desert and don't see ever using my heated seats again!
All in all it seems to have been a good buy. It handles quite well, as mileage is not spectacular but is very good, it's a nice size for a compact car, I don't ever feel cramped, and so far it has been very reliable.
