Pros: TALL, reliable, stylish, easy-riding, economical little SUV.
Cons: It's not a little Land Rover.
The Bottom Line: Chances are you'll find a lot to like about a 2005 Ford Escape ... especially if you're a very TALL driver.
Review: It's My All-time FavoriteYep, as wife of a very TALL man, I've tried a bunch of vehicles ... Jeep, Explorer, Tahoe, Ram, Silverado, even ragtops ... and this compact XLT SUV has given us THE maximum in interior space and visibility along ...

Pros: Gas mileage, nimble driving, in-dash navigation system, storage
Cons: Blind spots, storage in center console, cheap cluster gauge
The Bottom Line: Absolutely buy this car if you want a combination of great gas mileage and SUV capability and size. This car is fantastic!
Review: My first impression of this car was that it was so CUTE!!! When I told my husband this, he was not amused :) While on deployment, he ordered this car, sight unseen, from the Overseas Military Sales Corporation. He chose the Escape Hybrid because it ...

Pros: Electric-only cruising (stealth mode)! Excellent SUV mileage. Good performance/acceleration. Unique vehicle (for now).
Cons: Price. No sunroof option. ICE has to run when on defrost due to A/C compressor.
The Bottom Line: Recommended based on 4-month/6,000 km driving experience to date. Excellent performance and mileage for an SUV; stealth (electric-only) mode is wonderful and meets/exceeds Ford's advertised performance.
Review: We looked at the Civic & Prius hybrids prior to the Ford Escape Hybrid (FEH) arriving and decided to wait. Finally got the chance to place our order at the start of July 2004 at Coastal Ford in Vancouver, B.C. -- selected an AWD in Titanium Green with ...

Pros: Fun to drive, great handling, roomy interior, tows well, excellent 4x4 system, remote-starter
Cons: Too much road noise, uncomfortable headrests, fuel economy could be better, color options on limited
The Bottom Line: I would lease this vehicle again in a heartbeat and definitely plan to buy it off lease. It is trouble-free, fun to drive, and offers outstanding value.
Review: In 1994 I bought a new Explorer and loved it so much I hated to give it up. Even though it was almost 11 years old I still liked it at least as much as anything new plus it was paid for. Enter an awesome lease deal on a 2005 Escape, and it was finally ...

Pros: Looks better than 2004, feels solid/safe, decent gas mileage.
Cons: Gauge cluster ugly, stereo controls confusing, ultra-cheap floor mats, scary fuel gauge.
The Bottom Line: We thought all SUVs were evil until we met the Escape, now we know that some SUVs are of a good useful size without having to be environmental nightmares.
Review: We purchased our XLT Escape at Galpin Ford in Los Angeles through a friend at the dealer and got the car for $200 over dealer cost + 3.9% financing. We didn't have to do the wheeling and dealing either just said hi and he showed us the computer monitor ...

Pros: Agile handling, smooth ride, great V6, easy entry/exit, lots of room, trip computer, sound system
Cons: Smallish fuel tank, no manual transmission option with the V6 (STILL), Limited's limited color selection
The Bottom Line: The Escape's combination of comfort, handling, utility, and substantial feel still make it the top choice in the small SUV category.
Review: My 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer's lease was going to be up soon, and my Ford dealer was after me to trade it in early. With gas prices soaring in June of 2004, I thought it would be a good time to look around at other SUVs and SUV-type vehicles. I ...

Pros: Looks sharp, amazingly zippy, roomy, great stereo, sporty looks, comfortable seats, storage space, handles great
Cons: Costs 28.00-40.00 to fill up during July to September 2005
The Bottom Line: Best Buy for the money. Not too big and not to small. Sharp but practical. Look forward to driving it!
Review: I am not as skilled as some people as it pertains to general auto knowledge, but I believe I have some important things to note when shopping for your next SUV if you are considering the Escape. As a single woman I always drove a Mustang GT. (Five of ...

Pros: V6 is peppy. Roomy interior. Great visibility!
Cons: Factory Tires, Contitrac are junk. I put BFGoodrich Long Trail Radials on mine last fall.
Review: I was looking for a vehicle with ground clearence for northern Wisconsin winters. My Escape has it. Only Front wheel drive. Doesn't have a problem in the snow. Now have 76,000 miles on it. Runs and looks ...

Review: Traded my 2003 Explorer Sprt XLT 2WD for my 2005 Escape Limited 4x4. I've had it for 5 months now and put 13,000 miles including a 1500 mile trip from Virginia (where I bought it) to Texas (where I live). I LOVE the ride. It handles MUCH better than ...
