Ford hit the nail on the head with my 2004 Ford Taurus SE. I live in the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains and I have to tell you, this baby hugs sharp turns like nothing else on the road!
It's OK on gas, but if you read the owners manual (The part that explains when is best to use overdrive and when not to and why**), and stay on your oil changes you'll do great for mileage.
**The owners manual states when to use the overdrive and when not to, to get the best mileage. It advises Country driving on straight flat roads is great for overdrive mileage but hills on the other hand are better without the overdrive on.
You could fit at least a dozen dead corpses in the truck! Not that I'd ever advise you kill a dozen people just to fill the trunk, but if you had to .....
Seriously though it has ample trunk space, the stock sound system has a great sound too! Yes. Shame on me. I love my stock stereo with amp, and built in CD changer!
Attention at home oil changing people: The oil filter is on the front of the block. It's very easy to access making oil changes at home a snap.
The traction on this car is better than anything else I have ever driven, 2 wheel, 4 wheel, all wheel, nothing else compares! The on board computer compensates perfectly for ice spots and moves power where power should be. I've never felt safer driving through an ice storm in any other car I've ever driven!
