A beautiful vehicle but TOTALLY Unreliable

Our 2003 Windstar is a beautiful vehicle. Maybe it has too many bells and whistles but to us it has been a lemon. We are on out third VCR (and this one will not rewind now) because Ford will only give you a "REBUILT" unit under warranty. The rear defroster has never worked well. We have had 17 dead batteries to date because of some sort of electrical gremlin. The cornering lights come off and on when they are not called for. And our children have us constantly turning up or down the stereo because the speakers keep going in and out. We have had the vehicle to the dealership 16 times. The rep. from Michigan said they cannot replace it because it never acts up when we have it in the shop. Last trip they kept the vehicle over a month (but Ford Credit didn't give us a break on the monthly payment), and nothing. Well, we did have a flat tire, and they had to "charge" the battery before we could leave. Maybe its the car, maybe its the dealership, or maybe it is Ford's unwillingness to help - but stay away from Windstars. At least the Limited model. Oh, I almost forgot, did I mention at around 75 mph you have a loud bell that goes off - and the dealer says they cannot disconnect. Out of luck in Cincinnati, Ohio.
